SkyCompass

Privacy Policy

Effective 20 August 2026

The short version

1. What we collect from visitors

The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. There are no accounts and no signup forms.

Interface preferences (the light or dark mode choice, and chart options like the mayor-terms overlay) are saved in your own browser’s local storage so they stick between visits. They never leave your device and are not sent to us.

Item pages link to outside sites for reference: the community-run Hypixel SkyBlock Wiki, and SkyCofl (sky.coflnet.com), which is credited beneath charts that include its historical data. Nothing is loaded from those sites by viewing our pages; the historical data itself is fetched by our server, never by your browser. Only if you follow such a link do you visit that site, under its own privacy practices.

Every page also links to our Discord server. Nothing from Discord is loaded by viewing our pages either; following that link is what takes you to Discord, and section 2 explains what happens if you join.

Like every web server, ours keeps a technical log of requests (path, time, status code, and the referring page when your browser sends one). IP addresses in that log are masked before they are written, so the part that could identify an individual connection is discarded; browser identification headers are not recorded at all, and what you type into the Stat Breakdown, the Pet XP Profit, Minion Profits, Minion Slots and Attribute Tracker pages and the search box is sent in the request body rather than in the address, so it does not appear in the log either. Each log file is deleted 30 days after it is rotated, and files rotate frequently, so an entry is kept for about a month at most. We cannot identify an individual visitor from what we keep. We do compute aggregate statistics from these masked logs, for example how many visits a page received. Those are counts, not profiles; nothing in the input could single a visitor out.

2. If you email us or join our Discord

If you email skycompassofficial@gmail.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply, we do not add you to any list, and we do not share it. Email is currently handled through Gmail, so Google processes it as our email provider.

We also run a Discord server. Joining is optional and nothing on this site needs it. Discord runs that platform, so what you post there is handled under Discord’s privacy policy and terms of service, not this one.

Inside that server we run our own moderation bot, and it is the one place where we hold data about you that this site does not. It stores no message content, no support-ticket conversations, and no images — only what moderating consistently needs: your Discord user ID, together with what a moderator or the bot did, why, and when. Those moderation records are deleted after 180 days. If a restriction is still in force its record is kept until it is lifted, because otherwise it would stop working. Support tickets keep who opened one, when, the subject line, and which moderator handled it; the conversation itself stays in Discord and is never copied out. Once a ticket is closed, that record is deleted on the same 180-day window.

None of it is published, exported, sold, or linked to anything else on this site, and it is not connected to your in-game identity.

Separately from that server, we offer a SkyCompass command bot that answers slash commands such as /stats with the same computed results the site shows. It can be used inside our server, in another server you add it to, or in a direct message. When you run a command the bot receives what you typed into it and, if you left the player blank, your server nickname, and uses them once to answer; the lookup is the same one the site makes, and nothing from it is stored. The bot keeps a scrambled form of your Discord user ID in memory for a few minutes, only to limit how many lookups one person can start, and it cannot read messages: it has no access to message content at all.

3. Public game-market data

SkyCompass collects public in-game market data (bazaar prices and auction results) from the Hypixel API, and older price history shown on charts comes from SkyCofl’s public data service, fetched and cached by our server. This is data about the game economy, not about visitors to this site, and none of it is connected to you when you browse here. Auction records published by the Hypixel API include the in-game identifiers of the players involved; SkyCompass does not display these, and they are not connected to any feature on the site.

The Stat Breakdown shows a player’s in-game progression (their mining stats, skill levels, and similar) for a username you type in. When you use it, our server fetches that player’s public SkyBlock profile from the Hypixel API at that moment, shows you the result, and stores nothing: there is no database of looked-up players, no history of who was looked up or by whom, and no tracking of a player over time. The only retention is a short server-memory cache (minutes, to avoid repeat fetches); the username itself is sent in the request body and never appears in the technical log described in section 1. The looked-up data is the same public profile Hypixel shows to anyone through its API and in-game; players control what it exposes through Hypixel’s own API privacy settings. The Stat Breakdown never reads the stored auction records described above. The optional Autofill on the Pet XP Profit and Minion Profits pages works the same way: it reads the same public profile once, at that moment, to fill in a few pet-XP boost values (and, on Minion Profits, the profile’s minion slot and co-op member counts), and is subject to everything in this section. The lookup on the Minion Slots page is the same kind of one-off read: it takes the profile’s crafted minions, its Community Shop tier, its collection amounts, its claimed slayer levels and its faction reputation to work out which minion recipes are available, shows the result, and keeps nothing. The lookup on the Attribute Tracker page reads the profile’s syphoned attribute counts, its Hunting Box contents and its Hunting skill XP the same way: one read at lookup time, the result shown, nothing kept.

4. Children

We know this audience includes younger players, which is one reason the site is built to collect nothing. There is no data practice here that requires parental consent, because there is no data collection to consent to. For the same reason there is no minimum age on this site; if accounts are ever added, one will be set first.

Our Discord server is different, because Discord sets the rules there: Discord requires everyone using it to be at least 13, and older in some countries. That is Discord’s requirement and it applies in our server like any other.

5. If the site changes

The site has no accounts and collects nothing beyond what this policy describes. If that ever changes, this policy will be rewritten first to say exactly what is stored, who processes it, and how deletion works, and the change will carry a new effective date.

6. Who is responsible, and your rights

SkyCompass is run by a private individual based in North Carolina, United States, who is responsible for the (very little) personal data described in this policy. If a legal entity is formed to operate the service, it will be named here.

Three kinds of personal data exist here, and they are very different. The first is email correspondence (section 2), which you choose to send us. The second is the in-game player identifiers that the Hypixel API publishes as part of every completed auction (section 3): SkyCompass stores these as part of the market record, because an auction with the participants stripped out cannot later be verified or corrected. They are never displayed, never searchable, and no page or feature on this site exposes them. The third is Discord moderation records (section 2): if you join our Discord and a moderator or the bot acts on your account, we hold your Discord user ID alongside what happened and why, for 180 days. Server logs are masked before they are written and cannot identify you.

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it, for emails, auction records and Discord moderation records alike. Write to skycompassofficial@gmail.com, including your in-game username if your request is about auction records, or your Discord user ID if it is about the Discord, and we will respond within 30 days. Auction records are retained for as long as SkyCompass operates, because the price history they form is the service; if that changes, this section will say so.

7. Changes

This policy took effect on 8 August 2026. It was updated on 11 August 2026, when section 6 was corrected to acknowledge the stored auction identifiers described in section 3 and to extend the data-request route to cover them, and on 14 August 2026, when section 3 gained a description of the Stat Analyzer’s on-demand, store-nothing player lookup. On 18 August 2026 the wording throughout was tightened; nothing about what is collected changed. On 20 August 2026 this policy took a new effective date, because a public Discord server was linked from the site and the moderation bot that runs in it holds a new kind of personal data: section 2 now describes what it stores and for how long, section 4 notes Discord’s own minimum age, and section 6 lists it as a third category with the same access-and-deletion route as the others. Nothing about what this site collects changed. On 21 August 2026 the feature this policy called the “Stat Analyzer” was renamed the “Stat Breakdown”; earlier entries on this list keep the name that was in use on their date. It is the same feature, doing the same thing with the same data, so this policy keeps its 20 August 2026 effective date. Material changes will be noted on this page together with a new effective date.
